Stop Worrying

Jesus had a lot to say about worry. He saw it as both counterproductive and evidence of a lack of faith. He said firmly not to worry at all.

Now there is a world of difference between planning and worrying. We are admonished to plan carefully and even to “sweat the small stuff”.  Planning and paying attention to details are positive activities because we can make positive things happen as a result.

Worry on the other hand, is by definition useless fretting about things over which we have no control, and it produces no positive results. Many successful business people recount how they concentrate intently on their businesses during working hours but never worry about them during the evening. This is consistent with Jesus’ teaching. In Matthew 6:34 he says, “therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.”
